I make porcupine quill embroidery pieces inspired by museum artifacts created by women in Great Lakes and Woodland Indian tribes. All my work is done on walnut-dyed smoked braintan leather. The porcupine quills I use are naturally dyed and I use all natural materials to finish my work.
I also demonstrate my technique at living history events across the Midwest. Please contact me for booking information: djuana@djuanasquillwork.com (618)975-8897
Thanks, Muzzleblasts Magazine, for putting my work on the cover of the October issue.
And thanks to Lon Brauer, my partner and sweetheart, for taking such a great photograph.
